Veterinary Assistants work closely with our DVMs performing various tasks pertaining to all patient visits. Candidates must be able to work evening shifts; we are looking for people who are self-motivated and detail oriented; veterinary experience is a plus. All applicants must provide professional references.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting veterinarians with appointments and treatments;
• Run laboratory tests and use of hospital equipment including digital x-ray;
• Caring for sick and hospitalized patients;
• General hospital cleaning and maintenance, including animal housing areas;
• Laundry

Skills Needed:

• Ability to read and understand instructions;
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients;
• Basic computer knowledge/skills;
• Able to learn basic medical terminology and properly document treatments as needed;
• Must work well in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Obligations:

• Able to lift and carry at least 50lbs without assistance;
• Able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods of time;
• Able to learn and utilize safety precautions for exposure of toxins, drugs, and radiation.

Availability:

Weekday and Evening Availability: Monday - Thursday 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Closing)

Weekend Availability: We are currently closed on weekends.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
